Thank you so much for visiting VincientBooker.com!
This is my third attempt at blogging and if I’m honest – I check this site’s traffic obsessively. It’s kind of problematic. After each post, the flood of likes and occasional comments that come in fill me with an immeasurable sense of joy, excitement, and well – relief.
Though I spent the first two-thirds of my life defining myself as an artist, I haven’t done anything creative for the better part of a decade. I’ve wondered why I haven’t felt myself lately and it’s because I can’t remember the last time I drew, painted, sang, or wrote something. I’ve been afraid that I might have lost or outgrown this part of my life, or worse – that I might not have really had it to begin with if that makes any sense at all. However, with a lot of encouragement from my family and friends, I decided to get back in the game so to speak, at least with writing and revamp a novel I started around the time I went to college.
While I continue to rework the plot and develop my characters for Burning Dim, I have also gotten back into writing poetry. In the last 3.5 weeks, I’ve written close to 100 Haikus, gained over 500 likes, have over 20 followers. I know it may not sound like much, but I couldn’t be more grateful!
Thank you very much for reading my poems. It all truly means the world to me and is keeping me accountable towards reaching my goal of having a draft of Burning Dim ready by the end of this year. Along the way, I plan to try other forms of poetry, write a few short stories, and blog more regularly. Please continue to follow, like, comment, and share at your leisure.
